Many of our products feature Sterilcoat AM, which is an anti-microbial powder coat paint. This means that the painted surface actually prevents the growth of harmful bacteria, mold and fungi. The anti-microbial powder coat finish is especially durable against cleaning chemicals, stains, and is scratch resistance to provide protection over an extended period of time.
The grip material is non-absorbent, so it is unaffected by most solvents and chemical cleaners. We recommend using warm water and soap. If you require a stronger cleaner, avoid using powder or grainy based cleaners such as Comet. For cleaning and disinfecting in a hospital or care facility setting, an accelerated hydrogen peroxide can be used.
Water spotting and mineral build-up can occur on all chrome and stainless fixtures and faucets.
We recommend avoiding abrasive and aggressive chemicals such as ammonia-based products and window or tile cleaners, bleach or abrasive cleaning pads. As with any finish on a kitchen or bath fixture, it’s easier to wipe these fixtures with a microfiber cloth regularly rather than letting water sit on them for a prolonged period of time.
We recommend the use of Gel-Gloss Faucet Brite and Gel-Gloss Kitchen and Bath Cleaner. They are commonly recommended to revitalize a spotty finish for bath fixtures and hardware. It may take several applications for a first-time fixture that has had a lot of build-up.
The SerenaSeat Pro frames, EasyMount Grab Bars, Invisia Collection and Plus Series are all 100% stainless steel, which is extremely resistant to rust, but may require some care.
Surface rust can often be caused by cleaning solvents reacting with the top layer of chromium oxide on the stainless steel. Bath and tile cleaners that contain chlorides (fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, etc.), and some cleaners containing alcohol, ammonia or mineral spirits can react with the stainless steel as well, especially if left to dry on the stainless.
The good news is, with a little cleaning the chromium oxide layer can be restored. Removing surface rust can be done by using a paste made from baking soda and water and rubbing in the direction of the grain with a cloth. Once the rust is removed and the stainless is rinsed and wiped clear of the cleaners, the top rust-protecting layer will naturally restore itself.
The trays can be removed for easy cleaning. They are extremely durable, made from a non-porous solid surface material that resists the growth of bacteria. It is safe to you use general household cleaners on it.
The back slats should slide freely along the guide rail. Some of the reasons that may prevent the bamboo back slats from sliding freely are as follows
1. There may be debris such as soap buildup between the back slat and the frame. If possible, remove the debris and try to dislodge the slat.
2. The slat may have been lifted on one side, causing it to jam at a slight angle. If this is the case, check the top of the slat with a level. If the slat is not level, try to reset the slat to level by carefully pushing it back into place.
3. Its also possible that the wall brackets were not installed square level and plum in relation to each other. If this is the case, try the following.
A) Cover the bottom slat with a soft cloth to protect it.
B) Place a small piece of scrap wood beneath the bottom slat against the soft cloth. (The scrap wood will absorb the impact of the hammer and prevent the back slats from being damaged)
C) Very carefully, tap the scrap piece of wood with a hammer to dislodge the back slats. Be sure to tap lightly and evenly along the bottom of the slat. Hard hits with the hammer, may cause the bamboo slats to crack.
